Rental guidelines
How to rent safely on Qwatar, for renters and for owners.
Last updated: October 2026
Before you agree
Inspect the item or space in person. Confirm the rent, the duration, the deposit and what happens if something is damaged or returned late. Put the important points in a message or a simple written agreement.
Handover
Photograph the item at handover and at return. Note meter readings, existing scratches or missing accessories so both sides are protected.
Deposits
Agree the deposit with the owner directly and get a receipt or a written note. Deposits are never paid to Qwatar.
Red flags
A price that is far below the market, pressure to pay before viewing, requests to move the chat to another app immediately, or an owner who will not meet in person. Report the listing and stop the conversation.
For owners
Verify the renter's ID, keep a copy of the agreement, and mark your listing as rented out once it is taken so renters are not misled.
